Soccer Recap: Cibola Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

There's no place like home for Cibola, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They had just enough and edged the Yuma Criminals out 2-1 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Joemar Valenzuela and Alexander Martinez scored both of Cibola's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

With the win, Cibola broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-6. As for Yuma, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Cibola and Yuma could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. Cibola (ranked 84th) will meet San Luis (ranked ninth) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Yuma will face off against Kofa at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th down 129 places (147 vs. 18).
