The Holy Name Green Wave will venture away from home to challenge the Padua Franciscan Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
On Tuesday, Holy Name came up short against Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin and fell 3-1. The Green Wave have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Holy Name started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-14, 26-24, 25-15.

Holy Name might have lost, but man, Hayden Wells was a machine: she had 22 digs and five assists. Wells has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more digs the last four times she's played. Skylar Chmielewski also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Meanwhile, Padua Franciscan came up short against Elyria Catholic on Tuesday, falling 3-0.
While Padua Franciscan was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-22.
Despite the defeat, Padua Franciscan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Giulia Reginelli had 14 digs and six assists.
Holy Name's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Padua Franciscan, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.
Holy Name might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Padua Franciscan when the teams last played back in September. Can the Green Wave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
