Tate falls despite strong effort from Jaquan Mcdonald

Recap: Tate Aggies vs. West Florida Jaguars

The Tate Aggies pushed their score all the way to 61 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-61 to West Florida. That's two games in a row now that Tate has lost by exactly seven points.

When it comes to explaining why Tate lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaquan Mcdonald. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Deonne Williams, jr., who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Tate were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Florida only racked up three assists.

West Florida had a senior duo take command as John Anderson scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks and Dominick Nicholson scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Anderson has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last 16 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brayden Justice, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.

Tate has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. As for West Florida, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Tate won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Niceville at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Niceville will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for West Florida, they will be playing at home against Pace at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
