Basketball Recap: Sunrise Mountain Takes a Loss

Sunrise Mountain lost against Basic back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Sunrise Mountain Miners took a hard 52-34 fall against the Basic Wolves. The Miners just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

It was another big night for Mia Frias, who posted 30 points for Basic. That makes it three consecutive games in which Frias has scored at least a third of Basic's points. Tatum Meatoga was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Sunrise Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Basic, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Sunrise Mountain has already played their next matchup, a 55-27 defeat against Canyon Springs on the 28th. As for Basic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-38 victory against Del Sol on the 29th.
