Softball Recap: Lee Academy Pandas vs. Woodland Dragons

Lee Academy couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 14-1 to the Woodland Dragons on Wednesday. The loss leaves Lee Academy without a win on the season.

For Woodland's part, Brooke Smith was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 4-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen three or more in the last three games she's played.

Lee Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Woodland, they will head out on the road to take on Bangor Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodland knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy run totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Bangor Christian likes a good challenge.
