Basketball Recap: Tulare Union Drops Season-High Score on Mission Oak

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tulare Union). They blew past the Mission Oak Hawks 97-75 on Tuesday. The The Tribe have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tulare Union to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brayden Stevenson, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine assists. That's the most assists Stevenson has posted since back in January of 2024. Keanu Kennedy also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Stevenson wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Tulare Union was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Mission Oak still got an impressive performance from Joaquin Torrez, who went 10 of 20 to rack up 28 points and five boards. Malakai Rodriguez was another key player, going 7 for 14 en route to 19 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Tulare Union and bumps their season record up to 21-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.5 points over those games. As for Mission Oak, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season.

Tulare Union has already played their next contest, a 60-44 win against Dinuba on the 6th. As for Mission Oak, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 82-59 defeat against Hanford on the 6th.
