Baseball Recap: Glenwood Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Glenwood ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs 7-5. For the Titans, this counts as revenge for the 10-9 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Glenwood's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Appenzeller, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-5. That's the most RBI Appenzeller has posted since back in May of 2024. Another was Joe Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Glenwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.

Glenwood has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. As for Mahomet-Seymour, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-12.

As of now, neither Glenwood nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
