Preview: McKean Highlanders vs. Bishop McDevitt Crusaders
The McKean Highlanders will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Bishop McDevitt Crusaders at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with McKean sitting on six straight victories and Bishop McDevitt on three.
Last Tuesday, McKean was fully in charge, breezing past ASPIRA Charter 78-29 on the road. With McKean ahead 45-11 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Bishop McDevitt scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They snuck past Williamsport with a 56-50 victory. Given Bishop McDevitt's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Williamsport is ranked 570th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
McKean's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Bishop McDevitt, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
