Basketball Recap: Bennington Starts Season with Win Against Wahoo

Bennington took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They snuck past the Wahoo Warriors with a 67-63 win. For the Badgers, this counts as revenge for the 82-72 victory the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.

Austin Kaiser was nothing short of spectacular: he went 9 of 18 on his way to 34 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Those 34 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Fitzgerald, who posted nine points.

When it comes to explaining why Wahoo lost, don't look at Dylan Simons. Despite the final result, he had 22 points. Another player making a difference was Landon Fye, who put up nine points.

Bennington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-49 win against Crete on the 7th. As for Wahoo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 41-39 victory against Aurora on the 7th.
