Basketball Game Preview: Greer Yellow Jackets vs. Wren Hurricanes

The Greer Yellow Jackets are taking a road trip to take on the Wren Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Greer sitting on ten straight victories and Wren on seven.

Greer is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 56-46 win over Dreher.

Meanwhile, Wren beat Daniel 59-48 on Thursday. Given the Hurricanes' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Lions are ranked 64th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Greer's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points over those games. As for Wren, their win bumped their record up to 24-4.

Greer was able to grind out a solid victory over Wren when the teams last played back in February of 2018, winning 49-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greer since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
