Kennedy is a perfect 7-0 against Brooks since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Crusaders will host the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Kennedy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.6 runs per game this season.
Kennedy is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since March 23rd on Wednesday. They lost 18-4 to Saint Ignatius College Prep. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ariel Huerta made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, while Brooks put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Simeon. The Eagles put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 16-0 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by nine runs or more this season.
Amaya Estrada made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Estrada was also big at the plate, earning one run and two stolen bases. Estrada is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Brooks got a massive performance out of Jayla Tarr, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sunata Davis, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.
Brooks' win bumped their record up to 7-4-1. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Kennedy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .657. However, it's not like Brooks struggles in that department as they've averaged .609. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Kennedy got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April against Brooks by a conclusive 12-1 score. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
