Basketball Recap: GEO Next Generation Takes a Loss

GEO Next Generation has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 29.81 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They had to suffer through a 68-33 loss at the hands of the Parkview Baptist Eagles. The Tigers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Despite the defeat, GEO Next Generation saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kimberly Jack posted 15 points. Jack is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivoryana Powell, who had seven points.

GEO Next Generation's loss dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Parkview Baptist, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the GEO Next Generation Tigers duke it out with the Glen Oaks Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Parkview Baptist, they will square off against Port Allen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
