Baseball Recap: Fairfield Prep Wins Going Away Against New Canaan

Fairfield Prep entered their tilt with New Canaan on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Rams 11-2. That nine run margin sets a new team best for the Jesuits this season.

Fairfield Prep got a great performance from Reid Stanton as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.

At the plate, Cooper Rotondo and Evan Scheffler did most of the damage at the plate: Rotondo scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Scheffler went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that Scheffler launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Schachinger, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Fairfield Prep's record now sits at 4-1. As for New Canaan, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fairfield Prep beat the Rams by a score of 11-2 later that day.
