Basketball Recap: Bonita Sets Scoring Season-High Against Claremont

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bonita). They managed a 74-69 win over the Claremont Wolfpack on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bearcats as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Despite the defeat, Claremont saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaden Cardenas almost dropped a double-double on 32 points and nine rebounds. Cardenas' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Wang, who went 7 for 13 en route to 20 points.

Bonita's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-12. As for Claremont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

When Bonita and Claremont next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Bonita will challenge Workman and their 12-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Claremont will try to stop Glendora's 20-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
