Basketball Recap: Gabby Oborne Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Raceland

Russell won the last time they faced Raceland and things went their way on Thursday too. The Russell Red Devils walked away with a 60-52 victory over the Raceland Rams. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Devils.

Russell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gabby Oborne led the charge by putting up 22 points and eight boards. Those eight rebounds gave Oborne a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bethany Allen, who shot 63% from the field en route to 14 points.

Russell's record is now 23-7. As for Raceland, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-11.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Russell will take on Morgan County at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Russell will be up against Morgan County's rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.39 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Raceland, they will head out to face off against Blazer at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
