Basketball Recap: Yarmouth Takes a Loss

Yarmouth and Leavitt squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Yarmouth had to settle for second. They fell 48-35 to the Leavitt Hornets. The Clippers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Leavitt got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabby Smith out in front who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. Smith has become a key player for Leavitt: the team is 9-1 when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 4-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlyn Mccoy, who posted 16 points and three steals.

Yarmouth's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Leavitt, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.

Yarmouth does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Leavitt, they will take on Medomak Valley at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
