Volleyball Recap: Wheeler Extends Winning Streak to Three

Wheeler waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Hobart Brickies. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in August.

Wheeler walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 26-24, 24-26, 25-6, 25-23.

Brianna Bouma was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 19 digs. Those 19 digs gave her a new career-high. Payton Arney also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Despite the defeat, Hobart saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ira Hicko had ten digs.

Wheeler's record now sits at 16-8. As for Hobart, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Wheeler has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Calumet New Tech on the 25th. As for Hobart, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Andrean on the 25th.
