Softball Recap: Westminster Christian Wins Going Away Against Hatton

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Doral Academy, Westminster Christian was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Hatton Hornets as Westminster Christian made off with an 8-0 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Mya Rodgers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jasmine Armenteros, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Elise La Rosa also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Westminster Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Westminster Christian's record is now 6-4-1. As for Hatton, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-12-1.

Westminster Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-5 loss against Jasper on the 25th. As for Hatton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-6 victory against Athens Bible on the 25th.
