Soccer Game Preview: North Marion vs. East Fairmont

The North Marion Huskies will face off against the East Fairmont Bees at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Marion will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

North Marion is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Fairmont Senior, who was ranked 20th at the time (North Marion was ranked 19th). The Huskies had just enough and edged out the Polar Bears 3-2. North Marion found success even though the refs didn't miss a thing: Briella Sphon and Adalie Besedich were both handed yellow cards.

Rysa Besedich and Adalie scored all three of North Marion's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 35 goals.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, East Fairmont made sure to put some goals up on the board against Brooke on Saturday. They never let the Bruins get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The result was nothing new for East Fairmont, who have now won 17 matchups by five goals or more so far this season.

North Marion's win bumped their record up to 15-5-1. As for East Fairmont, their victory bumped their record up to 20-0.

North Marion suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to East Fairmont when the teams last played back in September. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
