Basketball Game Preview: Myers Park Mustangs vs. Ardrey Kell Knights

The Myers Park Mustangs will head out to face off against the Ardrey Kell Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Myers Park's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 contests.

Myers Park is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Blue Ridge just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 74-64 to the Barons. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 182nd in North Carolina, while the Barons are ranked second in Virginia).

Meanwhile, Ardrey Kell came tearing into Friday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cardinals, sneaking past 64-62. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since February 27, 2024.

Myers Park's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Ardrey Kell, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.

Everything came up roses for Myers Park against Ardrey Kell when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as the team secured a 65-28 victory. In that game, Myers Park amassed a halftime lead of 37-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
