Football Recap: Conotton Valley Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Conotton Valley won the last time they faced Frontier and Gavin Haney did his part to make sure it happened again. The Rockets blew past the Cougars 54-34 on Friday with plenty of help from Haney, who rushed for 200 yards and four TDs on only 15 carries, and also picked up 30 receiving yards and one touchdown. He didn't just play on offense: he also made seven total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended one pass.

Another player making a difference was RJ Higgenbotham, who picked up 102 receiving yards and one score. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 71 yards.

The victory (which was Conotton Valley's third in a row) raised their record to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.7 points over those games. As for Frontier, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Coming up, Conotton Valley will head out to take on Crestline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Frontier, they will host Magnolia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Blue Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
