Volleyball Recap: Fulton Starts Season with Win Against Mexico

Fulton took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Mexico Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 win. The Hornets were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Bulldogs, so the Hornets were just returning the favor.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-8, 25-14.

Among those leading the charge was Estella Vanschenkhof, who had nine digs and seven aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September of 2024.

Vanschenkhof wasn't the only good server: Fulton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mexico only served one ace.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fulton is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Centralia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mexico, they will face off against Kirksville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
