Tonopah Valley and Arizona Lutheran Academy are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Phoenix will be playing at home against the Coyotes at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.

Tonopah Valley fell victim to Yuma Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 15-0 to the Shamrocks. Considering the last time the Phoenix couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Arizona Lutheran Academy hadn't done well against Tempe Prep recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Coyotes were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Knights. Considering the Coyotes have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Rafael Guerrero was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Pennington, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Arizona Lutheran Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Arizona Lutheran Academy's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-11. As for Tonopah Valley, they dropped their record down to 10-11-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Tonopah Valley couldn't quite get it done against Arizona Lutheran Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Can the Phoenix avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
