Basketball Recap: John Marshall Takes a Loss

John Marshall was the 66-52 winner over Mayo when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The John Marshall Rockets took a 76-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mayo Spartans on Thursday.

John Marshall's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 21-4. As for Mayo, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mayo beat John Marshall by a score of 76-69 on Friday.
