Softball Game Preview: Mifflin County Huskies vs. Cumberland Valley Eagles

The Mifflin County Huskies will head out to challenge the Cumberland Valley Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Mifflin County has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight defeats, while Cumberland Valley will come in with seven straight wins.

Sunday just wasn't the day for Mifflin County's offense. They lost 10-0 to State College on Sunday.

Mifflin County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Baker, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Falynn Reinard also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Cumberland Valley faced Central Dauphin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Eagles came out on top against the Rams by a score of 6-3.

Cumberland Valley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Mifflin County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4-1.

Mifflin County might still be hurting after the 17-3 defeat they got from Cumberland Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
