Baseball Recap: White Pigeon Gets the Win

The third road matchup was the charm for White Pigeon, as they earned their first away win of the season. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Cassopolis Rangers on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Chiefs in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now won three in a row.

Brody Block made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Dace Kochel JR. was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Eli Lane also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

White Pigeon picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Cassopolis, they now have a losing record of 2-3-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Rangers beat White Pigeon by a score of 15-7 later that day.
