Preview: Fairmont Prep Huskies vs. Desert Christian Academy Conquerors
The Fairmont Prep Huskies's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Desert Christian Academy Conquerors at 12:00 p.m. on January 15th. Hopefully Fairmont Prep is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Desert Christian Academy in California (Fairmont Prep is ranked 123rd, while Desert Christian Academy is ranked 644th).
Last Tuesday, Fairmont Prep came up short against Pacifica Christian/Orange County and fell 54-44.
Meanwhile, Desert Christian Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They strolled past Temecula Prep with points to spare, taking the game 71-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Desert Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Augustine Youssef, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Joshua Brown was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds.
Fairmont Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Desert Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 14-6 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
