Preview: Metter Tigers vs. Claxton Tigers
The Metter Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Claxton Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Metter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Friday.
Last Friday, Metter earned a 47-35 win over Appling County. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Metter.
Metter found their leader in underclassman Za'kyah Byrd, who scored 16 points along with 8 steals and 7 assists. Zion Saffore was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Claxton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 46-30 bruising from Appling County.
Metter's win lifted them to 2-0 while Appling County's loss dropped them down to 0-3.
Metter ended up a good deal behind Claxton in their previous matchup back in January, losing 55-40. Can Metter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
