Clayton Hicks Game Report: vs Effingham County

On Thursday Clayton Hicks struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The performance marked the fewest hits Hicks has had since back in February. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his fifth in a row with less than one earned run. For the year, he has an ERA of 1.40 over 15 innings pitched.

Even though Hicks couldn't lead Evans over Effingham County, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Evans will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 163 places lower in Georgia), but they're not letting that get them down.
