Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Delta). They took their match on Saturday with ease, bagging a 72-16 win over the Rifle Bears. The Panthers have beaten the Bears the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bears has come to flipping the script.

It was another big night for Breezy Huff, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. She also grabbed eight steals, which is notable because Delta is 11-2 when she posts at least three steals, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Taylor Somers, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Delta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive contests.

Delta's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Rifle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-16.

Looking ahead, Delta will square off against Moffat County at 1:30 p.m. on February 15th. As for Rifle, they will challenge Eagle Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
