Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Carmel vs. Pinckneyville

The Mt. Carmel Golden Aces will venture away from home to face off against the Pinckneyville Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Mt. Carmel's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Mt. Carmel is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Robinson on Wednesday. The Golden Aces came up short against the Maroons, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Pinckneyville challenged Carterville on Thursday. The Panthers lost 6-0 to the Lions. That's two games in a row now that Pinckneyville have lost by exactly six goals.

Mt. Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Pinckneyville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Mt. Carmel couldn't quite get it done against Pinckneyville in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Golden Aces avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
