Baseball Recap: Calhoun Wins Going Away Against Hannan

The Calhoun Red Devils made easy work of the Hannan Wildcats on Wednesday and carried off a 12-5 victory.

Chase Schoolcraft made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Calhoun's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-2 (and 2-13 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Josiah Wilson was incredible, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landon Church, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Calhoun kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Calhoun's record now sits at 10-15. As for Hannan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Calhoun beat the Wildcats by a score of 12-5 later that day.
