Football Recap: John Wilson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Shiloh over Duluth + How To Watch

Shiloh extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 20-14 heartbreaker at the hands of the Duluth Wildcats. The Generals lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 35-6 score last time.

Shiloh's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John Wilson, who rushed for 70 yards and one score, and also threw for 135 yards and one TD. The Generals' leading receiver Isaiah Johnson was Wilson's top target yet again, picking up 90 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Even if they lost, Shiloh's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Tyrell Dorsey, Bakary Keita Jr, and Taycen Roberts, who each picked up one sack apiece. Danterious McKenzie was another major factor on D, making 12 total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

As for Duluth, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 28 points this season.

Duluth's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shamar Banner, who threw for 264 yards and one TD while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 39 yards and one score. Another player making a difference was Demarcus Rogers, who rushed for 126 yards.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shiloh will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Woodward Academy at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th. The match will give the Generals their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Duluth, they will be playing at home against Dacula at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 880 yards in their previous games.
