Baseball Recap: Gulliver Prep's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Gulliver Prep was handed a eight-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Oakland Patriots 3-2.

Cameron McAuliff looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Jacob Lombard was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Chase Cherne was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Gulliver Prep's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-16. As for Oakland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gulliver Prep will square off against Everglades at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oakland, they will take on Teays Valley in a tournament on Friday.
