Preview: Southridge Suns vs. Ridgeline Falcons
The Southridge Suns will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ridgeline Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Ridgeline likes a good challenge.
Southridge and North Central squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly Southridge had to settle for second. Their rough 82-57 loss to the Wolfpack might stick with them for a while. Southridge was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-23.
Meanwhile, Ridgeline's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Walla Walla 75-71. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Ridgeline came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Walla Walla is ranked 126th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Brayden Allen, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Caden Andreas, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine assists.
Southridge now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Ridgeline, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season.
Southridge and Ridgeline were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but Southridge came up empty-handed after a 55-54 defeat. Can Southridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
