Soccer Game Preview: Archbishop Murphy vs. Anacortes

The Archbishop Murphy Wildcats will face off against the Anacortes Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Archbishop Murphy came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 6-0 to Shorewood. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 10, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, Anacortes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Meridian, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Anacortes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Meridian are ranked 89th).

Anacortes' defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Archbishop Murphy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10-2.

Archbishop Murphy got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Anacortes by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Seahawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
