Basketball Game Preview: Huntington North Vikings vs. New Haven Bulldogs

Two dominant guards in Ethan Zahn and Tarvar Baskerville are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Huntington North Vikings will take on the New Haven Bulldogs at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Huntington North is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.6 points per game this season.

Huntington North will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Carroll, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. Huntington North skirted past Carroll 50-47.

It was another big night for Zahn, who posted 15 points in addition to six assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Husband, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, New Haven came up short against Columbia City on Saturday and fell 65-57. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

New Haven's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-9. As for Huntington North, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Huntington North lost to New Haven on the road by a decisive 49-33 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Huntington North avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
