Softball Recap: Tri-Central Trojans vs. Rossville Hornets
Tri-Central dropped to 5-5 on Wednesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 16-5 to the Rossville Hornets. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 19-0 to the Hornets when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Claire Conrad made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.
As for Rossville, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. Considering they have won four matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
On Rossville's side, they got a great performance from Emma Lees as she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk).
At the plate, Autumn Paschal was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Gorbett, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one double.
Coincidentally, Tri-Central and Rossville will both be playing Sheridan the next time they take the field. The Trojans will host the Blackhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Hornets will play them later in the day, at 5:30 p.m.
