Preview: Perry Commodores vs. North Baltimore Tigers
Perry is 0-3 against North Baltimore since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Perry Commodores will head out on the road to take on the North Baltimore Tigers at 6:45 p.m. Perry will be strutting in after a victory while North Baltimore will be coming in after a loss.
Perry put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 45-8 win over Continental on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Perry has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, North Baltimore's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 49-24 to Arcadia, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, North Baltimore can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 787th, while Arcadia is ranked 207th).
North Baltimore's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mackenna Ducat, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two blocks, and Alex Greeno who scored five points. Ducat has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played.
Perry has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for North Baltimore, they bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Perry took a serious blow against North Baltimore in their previous matchup back in December of 2016, falling 56-18. Can Perry avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
