Volleyball Recap: Carter-Riverside Takes a Loss

Carter-Riverside was the 3-1 winner over Western Hills when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Cougars on Friday. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Cougars since Friday.

Carter-Riverside started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-19.

This is the second loss in a row for Carter-Riverside and nudges their season record down to 11-15-1. As for Western Hills, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Carter-Riverside will take on rival Eastern Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Western Hills is set to face off against their familiar foe Dunbar at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
