Baseball Recap: Spring Creek Comes Up Short

Spring Creek lost against Moapa Valley on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Spartans fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 7-6. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Norman House made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Spring Creek: the team is 10-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-8 otherwise. Ethan DeFevre was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Spring Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Moapa Valley, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-8.

Spring Creek didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-2 loss against Lowry on the 11th. As for Moapa Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-4 defeat against Virgin Valley on the 7th.
