Football Game Preview: West Marion Trojans vs. Tylertown Chiefs

West Marion is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will head out to face off against the Tylertown Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Friday, West Marion blew past Collins, posting a 42-10 win. That looming 42-10 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Trojans yet this season.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Tylertown and Perry Central, and Tylertown kept the tradition alive. The Chiefs were the clear victors by a 40-20 margin over the Bulldogs on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Chiefs considering their 13-point performance the game before.

West Marion now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Tylertown, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

West Marion skirted past Tylertown 14-12 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
