Basketball Game Preview: Windsor Yellowjackets vs. West Rutland Golden Horde

The Windsor Yellowjackets will venture away from home to take on the West Rutland Golden Horde at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Windsor is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Hartford, who was ranked seventh at the time (Windsor was ranked ninth). Windsor came out on top against Hartford by a score of 40-29 on Monday.

Meanwhile, West Rutland humbled Springfield with a 64-37 victory. The Golden Horde have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Windsor pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games. As for West Rutland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Windsor didn't have too much breathing room in their match against West Rutland in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 54-50 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Windsor since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
