Basketball Game Preview: Rock Canyon Jaguars vs. Legend Titans

Rock Canyon is 8-2 against Legend since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Rock Canyon Jaguars will host the Legend Titans at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Rock Canyon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests.

Last Friday, Rock Canyon came up short against Mountain Vista and fell 82-69. The Jaguars were down 54-32 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Rock Canyon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jacob David went 8 for 20 to rack up 26 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The matchup was David's third in a row with at least 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasen Lehman, who posted 16 points along with six boards and five assists.

Meanwhile, Legend was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 64-57 to ThunderRidge. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Grizzlies are ranked eighth).

Rock Canyon's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-10. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27 points. As for Legend, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

Rock Canyon didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Legend in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 50-45 victory.
