Basketball Recap: Quinn Arundel Key Part of Team Effort in Mighty Macs Win

On Monday, the Mother McAuley Mighty Macs strolled past the Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 52-35. Given the Mighty Macs' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 366th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mother McAuley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quinn Arundel led the charge by going 5-for-11 to rack up 15 points and five assists. Arundel's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Delia Sullivan was another key player, going 6-for-13 on her way to 16 points.

Mother McAuley pushed their record up to 18-12 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points over those games. As for Riverside-Brookfield, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-21.

As of now, neither Mother McAuley nor Riverside-Brookfield have any future games scheduled.
