Volleyball Recap: Gilroy Comes Up Short

Gilroy lost against Mt. Pleasant back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Gilroy fell just short of Mt. Pleasant by a score of 3-2.

Gilroy took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-21, 26-28, 25-22, 15-10.

Alexander Rodriguez paced Gilroy's offense, picking up 22 kills. Rodriguez got some help from Jace Rosso and his 42 assists. Rodriguez also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Jason Lester, racking up two apiece.

Gilroy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mt. Pleasant, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Gilroy has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Overfelt on the 18th. As for Mt. Pleasant, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against San Jose on the 18th.
