Basketball Game Preview: Start Spartans vs. Clay Eagles

The Start Spartans and the Clay Eagles will round out the year against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Start's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Clay has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

On Monday, Start got the win against Ross by a conclusive 60-38.

Meanwhile, Clay managed to keep up with Evergreen until halftime last Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Eagles lost 58-35 to the Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 693rd, while the Vikings are ranked 254th).

Clay's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Start, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Start beat Clay 44-36 in their previous matchup back in December of 2017. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
