It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Little Cypress-Mauriceville had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Hudson Hornets as they made off with an 11-2 victory. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 games by seven runs or more this season.

Tessa Erickson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Ella Stephenson was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in March. Lexis Moss was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hudson only launched one home run.

The win (which was Little Cypress-Mauriceville's 15th in a row) raised their record to 28-4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Hudson, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-14.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hornets: the pair will be back at it again later today.
