Baseball Recap: Wahconah Regional Takes a Loss

After flying high against Granby on Thursday, Wahconah Regional came back down to earth. The Warriors fell just short of the Monument Mountain Spartans by a score of 4-3 on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-5 back in April.

Luke Ferguson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Colby Robb, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Wahconah Regional's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-8. As for Monument Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wahconah Regional will face off against South Hadley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monument Mountain, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Pittsfield at 4:30 p.m.
