Game recap: Highland Baptist Christian High School Football Team defeats Central Catholic

NEW IBERIA, La. - Highland Baptist Christian (New Iberia, La.) grabbed the lead when Gary Roberts ran for a touchdown with 7:00 remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat Central Catholic (Morgan City, La.) 34-28 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured five lead swaps.

The Bears led 20-14 at halftime, but the Eagles recaptured the lead on a passing touchdown with 11:00 to go in the fourth.

Highland Baptist Christian saw its 6-point halftime lead fall to five entering the fourth.

The loss was the fourth in a row for Central Catholic. The win brought Highland Baptist Christian's winning streak to four games.

In a 1A District 7 game next week Highland Baptist Christian (4-0) takes on Gueydan, and Central Catholic (0-4) will go up against Vermilion Catholic also in a 1A District 7 game.
